What People Are Saying About Our Martial Arts Instruction
Hello Master Marlow
I just wanted to write and thank you.
I was a student in your South Suburban YMCA martial arts program around 30 years ago in Iowa.
In your classes I gained confidence, learned how to protect myself, and the importance of respecting others. I was also lucky to be part of the amazing family you had created at the school. Over the years I have participated in a number of other martial arts programs in Colorado where I now live, and I always use my experience at your school as the measure of a good martial arts program.
Looking online it makes me extremely happy to see you have continued to excel in martial arts and still teach students.
Thank you for being such an amazing person and teacher, and for the positive impact you made on my life.
Wishing you and your students all the best.
Sincerely,
Brad Allen
During my first week of class I heard the phrase "speak to truth". To me, "speak to truth" means what you think and believe affects what you are able to learn and do. When I get caught up in worrying about failing, I trip myself up. When I focus on what I can do/need to do, through hard work and perseverance, I am able to accomplish my goals. Taekwondo helped Corrie learn to persevere.

Several years ago my boys and I found a remarkable extended family - Master Tony Marlow and some truly incredible people at Tri-cities TaeKwonDo. We were searching for something to ground us and make us stronger as we struggled in our challenging, private, daily lives.....what we found was a miracle of energy, of smiles, of focus and of drive - we found Master Marlow. For three and a half years we attended a school with a family of people that helped us become stronger - stronger physically, mentally and emotionally - stronger in spirit than I ever knew I could become. Master Marlow and a few of those remarkable people; Sumi, Jason especially, helped us find reasons to smile and laugh, every time we went to class. Master Marlow helped us find that spirit within and helped us understand what it was to grow and be cared about. My children then ages 5 and 13 and me at 46 had never done anything like TaeKwonDo and ohhhhh it truly tested us a little physically and mentally (okay it tested me the most!!!). Master Marlow brought us along, each of us at our own level and ability, with patience and that remarkable gift that he has of just making everyone feel like they can indeed achieve! As my children grew they became stronger phsycialy and spiritually under Master Marlow's watchful eye. Three and a half years later we had the privilege of watching my boys test for their black belts - and achieving them!! We look back and miss everyone there an incredible amount and we look forward knowing that strong foundation, that Master Marlow and his school gave us, will serve us in any pathway we now choose. Master Marlow, his program and his extended family are a program filled with miracles in time - a program that gives a person or a family all they may be looking for and more. Thank you Sir for all you do for those around you - for who you are and for the gifts you gave us as your students and friends.

Taekwondo is something that our entire family can do together regardless of physical ability, and it helps us to encourage and support each other. Master Marlow shares proverbs at the end of each class. We find ourselves talking about them at home, and it is wonderful to be exercising and playiny together as a family. Master Marlow is passionate about Taekwondo and obviously loves teaching. He works hard to gear his teachings to each of his student's circumstances and needs. Our family loves our nights at Taekwondo, and we look forward to advancing our martial art skills.
Sincerely, The Summers Family

“Taekwondo Benefits.
This Martial Arts form enhances your self-esteem by heightening physical and mental powers. Builds confidence in self defence to succeed and take control of your life. Develops discipline by thoroughly training your body and mind in the tenets and techniques of Taekwondo.”
“Taekwondo originated in Korea more than 2,300 years ago. Translated, it means "the way of the foot and fist," and as that name suggests, it was originally developed by warriors. But this ancient practice is about more than just physical defense. Children learn symmetrical body exercises for unarmed combat, including kicks, punches, jumping and dodging.”
“Taekwondo practice develops persistence, self-discipline and kindness. Many participants find an increased feeling of peace and balance. The right coach will teach taekwondo as an empowering way of life, encouraging students to apply the social and character skills learned in the classroom to their home and school lives.”
